Junior/Entry Level Network Technician

About the Role:

The Junior Network Technician is responsible for building and maintaining the day-to-day operation of computer networks that CDC relies on. These networks typically include an intranet, extranet, local area network (LAN), and wide area network (WAN). We welcome applicants who are passionate about networks to apply with us. This is a great opportunity for an entry level candidates who desires a diverse role with endless opportunity for learning and development.

Key accountabilities

  • Technical design and implementation of Palo Alto, Cisco and Dell Networking
  • Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert and provide guidance
  • Monitoring and configurational tools (Paessler PRTG, Observium)
  • L2/L3 Switching
  • Detailed understanding of IP protocols and principals including:
  • Routing Protocols (OSPF & BGP) – VPN Technologies (SSL, IPSec, MPLS)
  • NextGen Firewalls (Sophos XG/Palo Alto) – IDS/IPS
  • Enterprise Wireless Networks (Sophos, Cambium Networks)
  • Optical Networking (ADVA, Cisco) – Desirable
  • Comply with our Information Security Policy
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Building and maintaining relationships
  • Vendor management (Carriers)
  • Being part of a virtual team, working independently
  • Attention to detail

  • Strong documentation and compliance skills

Qualifications : (optional at point of application however willing to obtain and maintain certification moving forward)

  • Industry-related certifications (CCNP, JNCIP etc)

Essential:

Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance
